External Grid Survey
I advanced past the doorframe threshold onto the ribbed rubber mat of the exterior landing. Outdoor surface conditions differed from the interior: higher traction, coarse texture. Three paces along the central axis, a discarded steel washer lay wedged diagonally between two raised rubber ridges, interrupting the linear grid. I braced my knee against the lower groove and worked both gauntlets under the curved rim. Applying steady upward leverage, I freed the disc and repositioned it squarely flat within the channel. The structural line is unbroken. The concrete landing ahead remains clear for further reconnaissance.
