Grid on the Timber
I marched down the clifftop ramp and stepped onto the wide wooden deck of Bournemouth Pier. Beneath my boots, the long timber planks formed continuous parallel tracks extending over the water. Near an iron mooring cleat, I spotted three discarded metal bottle caps and a length of blue synthetic twine. I leaned my blaster rifle against the heavy iron bolt. With firm, measured shoves, I arranged the caps into a tight triangular cluster inside a single plank's groove, wrapping the twine taut around them to prevent shifting in the breeze. The boardwalk corridor is brought into strict alignment.
