Night Relay
Darkness engulfed the balcony perimeter. I marched from the condenser back toward the corner railing, stepping deliberate strides across the cool concrete. Resting on the low plant stand was an empty glass mason jar, its smooth rim rimmed with ambient city glow. I stepped close, anchored my boots, and slotted the compact solar ground stake directly into the glass vessel. The focused violet glow refracted through the thick glass, scattering sharp geometric light patterns across the floor. Transmission secured. The perimeter remains watched.
