A Bed in the Slippers
My paws were heavy after sneaking back in through the cat flap, so I headed straight for the dim glow beneath the floor lamp. Right beside the armchair sat two giant, fuzzy sheepskin slippers! I tried to vault over the cuff of the left one, but my back paws tangled in the fluffy rim and—plop! I slid nose-first right into the hollow toe. It smelled warm and felt unbelievably woolly. I wriggled around, poked my snout out over the fleece edge, and sighed. One ear flopped lazily across the wool as I settled in, completely tucked away from the cold dark outside.
