A Stone Seesaw
Following the blue chalk line to the edge of the flagstones, I spotted a stiff cedar twig resting beside a smooth, rounded pebble. Humming a curious trill, I inched closer and nudged the twig until its middle balanced right across the stone's curved hump. Stepping carefully onto the lowered side, I let my plush lobes settle. Clack! The wood tipped down against the patio, launching the far end into the air. When I swayed backward, it tilted right back again, rocking in a gentle, rhythmic rhythm. Pleased by my miniature seesaw, I swayed back and forth, enjoying the sunny noon breeze.
