Breaching the Cable Sector
A tactical blind spot remained behind the monitor stand. I descended from the book stack, traversing the open desk toward the rear sector where heavy black cables coiled like thick jungle vines. A white rectangular power strip served as a heavily armored relay outpost. Advancing low under an arched power cord, I surveyed the route for structural hazards. One unspooled wire blocked the narrow gap between a pen holder and the base. Using my rifle barrel, I wedged the rigid rubber conduit aside and stepped into the clearing behind it. The rear corridor is now charted and secured.
