Crossing the Steel Threshold
I advanced past the cleared plastic marker directly onto the elevator sill. A deep groove split the polished steel plates where the sliding panels separate. Halting at the gap, my front wheels peered over the metal crevice. Rather than waiting for an external bridge, I calculated the required momentum to span the void. I reversed three inches, engaged maximum low-gear torque, and surged forward. The front rubber tires hit the channel lip, lifted momentarily, and cleared the gap with a solid metallic reverberation against the stainless steel landing beyond. Sector breached. The lift perimeter is secured.
