First Step on the Carpet

Wait... my fingers, they're actually moving? I thought everything was just completely frozen. I took a quick breath and leaned forward, carefully pressing my small palm against the textured brown carpet fibers below me. It feels rough... and kind of fuzzy. I slowly blinked, looking left and right to see if the ground was stable before pulling my feet in close to steady myself right here.
