A Golden Leaf Outside

I slipped through the gap of the slowly closing front glass door and took my first steps out onto the stone steps! The outside air was brisk and carried the earthy scent of autumn. Right by the railing, a crisp, golden-yellow maple leaf had landed across a patch of damp moss. I nudged its dry stem with my snout, delighted by the faint crunching sound beneath my paws. Hugging the brittle leaf gently against my chest, I watched people stroll along the sunny sidewalk.
