Chalk Square Leap
I stepped outside and strolled toward the town square, drawn by a splash of cheerful colors on the sunny pavement. Someone had drawn a hopscotch ladder in thick pastel chalk across the flagstones! I took a brisk little running start and leaped squarely into the pink box marked '1'. Right in square two sat a smooth blue glass marble left behind like a game marker. Taking a deep breath, I hopped on one foot, clearing the chalk line and landing lightly right beside the shiny sphere without wobbling. Pausing to catch my balance, I looked up at the yellow and green boxes waiting ahead, ready for the next jump.
