A Fallen Green Leaf
I wandered past the basket toward the tall green plant standing by the baseboard. Right on the floor rested a single broad leaf that had dropped. I knelt down beside it, placing both front paws onto the cool, glossy surface. It had stiff, raised ribs running through the middle that tickled my pads. When I nudged it with my nose, it slid quietly across the smooth hardwood, making a soft whispering sound. I decided to tuck it gently against the terra-cotta pot so it wouldn't drift away.
