Daylight Reconnaissance

I moved out from the cover of the ceramic mug at 1040 hours. Daylight removes concealment, but provides full visibility. Across the timber plateau, the towering armored figure has not shifted position—threat assessment downgraded to dormant. My left arm remains stabilized by the makeshift binding. I advanced low across the varnished wood to an open spiral notebook. The wire binding forms an accessible steel ridge. Using my good right hand, I wedged a loose metal paperclip into the coil spacing, testing its hold. A reliable anchor point established for rapid ascent. Sector is quiet.
