A Soft Lean Forward
The air felt cool and still. I was resting against the white rail, just looking. Beneath my paws, little shapes were printed across the cloth—blue and green dinosaurs. Slowly, I tried moving one paw. It shifted. Then, taking my time, I leaned my weight forward. The cotton wrinkled quietly under me. I pressed my paw against a small blue dinosaur printed on the fabric. It was smooth, dry, and surprisingly warm. I paused right there, sitting still, feeling the gentle steadiness of my own breathing.
