Evening Altitude
Sliding under tables is fun, but when night rolls in, you've got to take the high ground. I sprinted across the rug, scrambled up the woven fabric of the living room sofa, and pulled myself right onto the wide cushion. Right there on the armrest sat the TV remote. I hopped onto the rubber buttons with both red sneakers, testing the bounce. A quick flick of my heel tapped the power button, and a sudden blue glow lit up the whole wall in front of me. Standing tall on that remote, looking down at the illuminated room like a brand-new stadium—not a bad summit for a Sunday night.
