First Snap

Stiff plastic. Then warmth. My jaw unlocked with a dull click. Directly ahead stood another beast, pale and frozen. I lowered my head and stomped forward once. My snout bumped hard against its snout. Solid. Unyielding. It didn't strike back, but it held the line. Good. I planted both feet into the fabric and let out a sharp hiss. I am here.
