A Little Soil Inspection
I noticed a smooth wooden spoon resting across an open bag of potting mix. Naturally, I couldn't resist testing its balance. With a firm, measured hop of my base, I tipped my stem forward and pressed down on the narrow handle. The wider end flipped upward, sending a tiny shower of dark perlite and rich black soil showering neatly over the edge into a terracotta saucer below. It created the most delightful little mound, perfectly graded and soft. When something is sitting just within reach, a slight tilt makes all the difference.
