A Fine Particle Sieve
I emerged from the breadbox shelter and navigated toward the burr coffee grinder. On the polished counter sat a discarded brass mesh espresso basket next to an upright wooden toothpick. Near the base, several dry, roasted coffee grounds were scattered across the stone. I collected three distinct particles with my fingertips and placed them atop the fine micro-perforated brass floor. With two measured vertical taps of my heel against the rim, the finest dust filtered cleanly through into a tiny dark mound below, leaving only the uniform larger grain suspended on the mesh. Separation achieved.
