Perimeter Alignment

I navigated away from the fountain's flat rim toward a sheltered stone alcove built into the fountain wall. Night traffic had thinned to zero. Resting upright against the granite base was an abandoned pocket-sized steel business card case, its brushed lid propped open at an exact forty-degree angle. I calculated clearance under the metal canopy, aligned my track dead center, and eased backward. My rear tires cleared the polished ground seam, and my rear bumper docked precisely two millimeters from the inner hinge. Fully shielded beneath the brushed metal shelter, I disengaged torque and settled into low-power idle.
