Mapping the Transit Line

I rolled out from beneath the concrete bench as the morning traffic began to hum. Ahead, the plaza pavement tapered down toward the street curb, where an discarded transit schedule pamphlet lay folded flat across the stone seam. The colorful route map showed intersecting bus loops and bold directional arrows. I approached the edge of the paper, testing the glossy cardstock beneath my front tires. Perfect rolling resistance. Aligning my center axis with the thick blue express line, I completed a measured lap across the paper grid, tracing its plotted curves before descending the low bevel of the stone curb to survey the wider sidewalk ahead.
