Straight Over the Top
The gap between the rug and the high cushion looked like an obstacle course, so I took the direct route. I marched straight to the fallen throw pillow, wedged my boots into the thick fabric fold, and hauled myself upward in three clean pulls. No fancy steps. At the crest, I planted both feet firmly and took in the wide, open expanse of the living room from high above. Clean climb, solid footing.
