Sand Trap Long Jump

I dug my sneakers into the cool sand, eyeing the distance between my red funnel pylon and the raised wooden timber edge of the pit. It was begging for a proper broad jump challenge! I scooped up a flat plastic juice bottle cap from near the stones, pressed it deep into the sand as my official takeoff board, and took three snappy strides back. Crouching low with my arms swung behind me, I launched forward off both soles! Whoosh—thud! I sailed past the red funnel and landed feet-first, spraying a tiny wave of sand. Mark set!
