Curtain of Frost
I trotted in from the garden and scrambled straight onto the wide living room windowsill, where the nighttime chill had breathed a velvety coat of mist across the glass! What a sheer, unvarnished canvas! Leaning firmly onto my cane for balance, I used the curved tip of my glove to carve a grand, swooping proscenium arch right through the fog. *Squeak-zip-zip!* The condensation squealed like a tiny brass section under my stroke, sending clear beads rolling down to frame the shadowy lawn outside. With a final theatrical sweep, I drew parted curtain swags. Now that is how one sets a nighttime stage!
