Grid Behind the Paperbacks
I pushed past the pen cylinder toward the shaded shelf boundary. A row of vertical paperbacks formed a canyon. In the crevice behind them, I found a yellow sticky note folded into crisp accordion ridges. Perfect geometry. I stepped between the paper folds, testing the tension with my paper feet. Creak. The pleats held my weight without collapsing. I counted five equal triangular tunnels formed by the zigzags. A temporary structural vault. I wedged myself inside the central arch to observe the wood-grain shadows.
