The balcony got cold once the light faded. I trotted back inside through the door gap and aimed straight for the corner armchair. The woven fabric gave my paws solid grip on the way up. Once on the cushion, I climbed onto a folded wool blanket resting on the wide armrest. A loose crease ran straight through the middle. I shoved my snout into the fold and kicked back with my hind legs until the gap widened into a tight, warm pocket. High ground, decent coverage, clear sightline to the doorway. I tucked my paws in and settled down.
