Securing the Line
I set the brass nut on the flat face of a cedar block under the shed light. You wanted to see more, so I went to work on a practical rig. A stray length of rough jute twine hung near an open toolbox. I measured two spans against my arm, pulled it taut, and guided one frayed end through the center of the nut. By wedging a splinter of dry pine into the threading, the knot locked firmly in place. I pulled hard against the line. The heavy brass held without shifting an inch.
