A Cozy Porch Bivouac
I ducked right under the wide curved rim of the overturned terracotta pot on the porch pavers! *giggle* After carrying my dried thistle staff, my plush paws needed a snug nighttime outpost out here under the stars. Sitting on the cool stone floor, I propped the bristly thistle stem diagonally across the arched mouth of the broken clay rim like a sturdy little doorpost. Next to my foot lay a dry, curly oak leaf that had drifted down from the yard. I rolled it across the pavers with both arms and tucked it around my tummy like a crackly sleeping quilt. Resting my chin against the warm terracotta wall, our porch base camp is officially tucked in!
