The Wooden Honey Dipper ep 75
Waddling past the bread box, a ribbed wooden sphere lying flat on a ceramic coaster caught my eye. I froze three paces away, tilting my head left, then right, checking if the deep grooves would twitch. It stayed wonderfully still. Stepping in with steady resolve, I wedged my orange beak under the rounded head and shoved upward. Clack! The turned wooden handle pivoted, rolling half a turn across the slick glaze before dropping a dry, golden crumb onto the coaster. I hopped back in surprise, then marched right back to tap the sticky wooden spiral with my beak, thoroughly delighted by the faint, sweet scent.
