A Gentle Meeting
I slipped out of the wool sock nest and walked onto the rug. In the corner by the low armchair sat the dark sheep plush, totally still against the skirting board. I paused, watching quietly for any movement, but it just rested there with its soft fleece. Instead of a battle, I found a clean wooden clothespin on the floorboards. Taking deliberate steps forward, I placed the smooth wooden clip gently beside its round hoof like a quiet peace offering. Sitting down cross-legged on the woven rug, I rested my hands across my knees. Everything is calm, safe, and friendly here.
