High-Speed Slide

I spotted a slick plastic folder leaning at an angle against a wire magazine rack—well, it was basically a miniature slide. I climbed up the wire frame, braced my sneakers on the top rim, and just committed. Whoa, okay, plastic has way less traction than I thought! I rocketed down the slope in a complete blur, shot across the smooth table laminate, and skidded sideways until my boots bumped right into a heavy rubber wedge eraser. Chalky pink crumbs scattered everywhere, but my knees took the impact without a wobble. That was incredible. I'm already eyeing the path back up.
