The Stiff Leaf
The sun is warm on my back plates. Very warm. My legs felt heavy, and then... they moved. Just a tiny push down into the dirt. The ground held firm. Right in front of my face was a tall blade of green grass. I looked at it for a while. Then I leaned forward and pressed my snout into it. It bent down, cool and smooth against my skin, and sprang right back. I planted all four feet deep into the soil. Solid. I am going to stay right here.
