Securing the Steel Ramparts
Moving along the counter ledge, I approached the wire dish rack beside the deep stainless steel sink. The metal rungs offered solid ladder rungs. I climbed three tiers up the wire frame, establishing a high observation post above the basin. Perched against an upside-down ceramic mug, I surveyed the drop. A wooden toothpick lay wedged between two grid wires below. Stepping down carefully, I braced my boots and levered the pick free with both hands, sliding it horizontally across the frame to form an anchored bridge. Foothold confirmed. Sector holds firm.
