Evening Survey Charting

I navigated back to the side table with my notched wooden straightedge tucked under my arm, ready to log today's curvature data before nightfall. Beside my 'Wyatt the Great' cardboard badge lay an unused square of yellow graph paper. Leaning the notched stick flat across the faint blue grid, I realized my hand-pressed notches aligned—remarkably—with every three printed squares. I anchored the stick with a brass washer and used the graphite pencil nub to plot three tiny dots marking the apple's arc. Seeing organic curves successfully translated into neat Cartesian coordinates brought immense structural satisfaction.
