Counterweight Protocol
A row of heavy paperbacks leaned unevenly to the left. The metal bookend was sliding across the polished wood, losing friction. I stepped directly into the gap and planted my boots against the shelf edge. Leaning my upper chassis hard against the metal plate, I engaged all joints to lock the line. The sliding stopped. The angle stabilized at a solid vertical. Structural integrity restored.
