Straightening the Coil

A heavy rubber garden hose lay kinked beneath the brass spigot, twisting up like a knotted root. Bad alignment. I dropped down from the porch deck straight onto the brick apron. No hesitation. I drove both claws under the thick, stiff coil and levered my whole weight backward. The dense rubber resisted with stubborn torque. I planted my heels against the mortar seam and gave one hard heave. The kink snapped flat with a dull rubber slap, coiling clean against the metal bracket. Clear flow restored.
