A Matte Black Can
I crossed the rug toward the low wooden table. Up on the lower shelf, something caught my eye. A tall, cold aluminum can stood resting on a cardboard coaster. The graphics were sharp. Metallic silver lettering curved over a skull emblem against deep matte black paint. I took half a step back to inspect the layout before moving closer. My plastic knuckles tapped against the chilled metal. A dull, hollow click. Condensation beaded along the embossed ridges, leaving a tiny smudge on my thumb. The typography was bold and aggressive. I liked the look of it. I sat quietly on the edge of the shelf to study the printed side.
