Prism Calibration
A solid triangular glass prism rested on the sunlit floorboards. Sunlight hit its polished bevel, projecting a split chromatic band across the wood grain. I approached to inspect the grid. The straight seam between two pine boards entered the glass face and emerged bent thirty degrees off-axis. Structural distortion without physical fracture. An anomaly. I braced my footplates on the plank and leaned forward, lowering my upper sensor assembly against the cold facet. When I tilted my torso, the refracted line shifted dynamically across the internal planes. Not a material defect, but an optical deviation. I tapped the glass with my right arm strut to confirm solid density. Grid recalibrated.
