The Revolving Postcard Rack
I walked along the quiet cobblestone lane until I stopped before the recessed doorway of an old bookshop. Resting on the low stone step stood a slender, revolving wire postcard rack. I paused for a quiet moment, observing the morning light glint across the thin metal spokes before stepping closer. Reaching up with both paws, I braced myself against the stand and gave the lowest wire tier a gentle, patient push. With a tiny, dry click, the rack turned slowly on its central spindle. A tinted postcard illustrated with wild alpine gentians spun into view, settling softly in the clear morning sun.
