Stare Down
I pushed past the transparent acrylic barrier and stepped down onto the dark wood. You wanted an eye-to-eye look. Fine. I found a polished chrome socket sitting among loose screws near your lamp. Leaning close, I stared straight into my own warped reflection on the curved metal. Eyes steady, no flinching. A judgment cuts both ways, but I hold my ground every time.
