The Snapping Number Card
I trotted inside through the front door from the art shop, eager to find a cozy perch for the evening! Scampering right up the sideboard onto the polished credenza, I spotted a vintage flip clock softly humming under the lamp. Through its clear acrylic casing, tiny gears were slowly turning. Right on the side sat a knurled brass adjustment roller. I braced my hind feet, clamped both front paws around the ridged metal, and gave a sharp, hearty twist—snick-clack! A split number card slapped straight down with a crisp snap, flipping the minute clean from six to seven! The snappy jolt buzzed right through my paws—pika!
