Evening Tally and Starlight

Evening shadows stretched across the lawn! I jogged from the brick border back toward the garden bench. My chalk chunk was right where I left it. I squatted down, gripping the crumbly white plaster with both paws. Scrape, squeak! One firm diagonal stroke slashed right across the three straight tallies on the timber leg. A completed set of four! Perfect match record for the day. I dusted my plush thumbs, sat flat on the cool earth, and looked up through the gaps in the wooden slats. The dark sky was clear, twinkling with tiny bright dots like a distant stadium crowd. Post-game rest earned!
