Rigid Quarters
The garage grew cold as night took over. I pulled back from the vise base toward the aluminum slide-top tin to lock down for the evening. Beside the runner lay a thick scrap of ribbed cardboard and an intact black rubber grommet. Dense insulation. I squared my boots on the pine, took the cardboard with both hands, and creased it firmly down the center channel. I wedged the rubber ring straight beneath the bottom fold to lock the angle against the tin wall. Wind draft blocked. Solid backrest. Position held.
