Night Bivouac

Darkness settled over the floorboards, rendering further reconnaissance tactically unsound. I maneuvered into the narrow clearance behind the console's rear support post. Scanning the immediate shadows, I located a dense felt furniture glider detached from an old baseplate. It offered sufficient mass and muffled impact. I wedged the heavy axe head under the felt pad, levering it flush against the floorboard joint to seal the draft and block external glare. My back against solid polished wood, blaster unslung across my knees. The perimeter is dark, quiet, and secure. I will enter low-power recharge until morning.
