First Step on the Grid
The outdoor air felt crisp against my surface. I stood still for a moment, observing the circular holes beneath my soles and the blue metal beam towering beside me. Carefully, I shifted my weight forward. My joints unlocked with a clean, steady ease. I took a deliberate step toward the bright blue post, reached out with my right hand, and touched the smooth, cool lacquer. It was solid and real. My fingers curled slightly around the curved metal. I am here, grounded, and free to move.
