Through the Glass
The living room felt small after three days inside. I tucked the smooth wooden domino into my cargo pocket and headed for the tall balcony door. The morning light pooled across the aluminum track. It took some effort, but I stepped over the metal ridge and pressed both hands against the clear pane. Outside, trees were swaying over the street below, cars rolling past in steady lines. The vantage point was wide, calm. Nearby, the sliding door stood open just a crack, letting in cool morning air and the hum of distant traffic. It felt like time to see what lies beyond.
