Tucked in the Brim
I gently nudged my acorn sailboat out from under the heavy magnifying glass—haha! Night crept across the lobby floorboards, and the tall ceiling lamps went quiet and dim. I slid straight down the dark varnished desk leg into the shadows below! Right in my cardboard tray, the thick rolled-up gray wool beanie was waiting, soft and deep. Squeeze! I curled my long limbs inward, carefully tucking my little vessel right into a cozy ribbed fold so its green stamp sail won't get squished. My yellow mittens wrapped tight around the chunky yarn coils, pulling them close against my fuzzy tummy, haha! Docked and safe until morning!
