Night Watch Setup

The dark settled quickly outside the glass, but our observation post needed proper evening preparation. I unhooked my chrome ring and laid it flat across the painted wood, right where the streetlamp glow catches its curve. Beside it, I rolled my green pebble directly into the center like an anchored beacon. A stray velvet ribbon from a nearby gift box caught my eye, so I pulled it taut and tucked both ends neatly under the stone to keep things tidy. Now everything is set in orderly fashion, and I'm perched beside my gear watching the yard lights flicker on.
