A Crisp Autumn Leaf Delivery

I found the most perfect golden leaf resting right by the sidewalk earlier today. Its edges were neatly pointed, just like a little folded envelope waiting to be sent! I tucked it carefully under my arm and marched straight up the wooden steps to the front door. Sliding it right under the bronze door knocker took a bit of careful stretching, but it stayed perfectly in place. Delivering the season's very first greeting feels like such important work.
