Neon Grid Beats
Dusk faded fast, leading me to a weathered timber shed tucked behind the playground. Nailed low to the rough wooden siding was an outdoor solar motion light, its translucent dome faintly glowing amber. Just underneath, someone had left an empty patterned aluminum soda can upright on a paving slab. I scrambled onto the can's concave top, finding my balance as the thin metal gave a satisfying, springy pop beneath my plastic boots. Every jump triggered the sensor overhead—flash! Cold white floodlight snapped on, turning the damp gravel into a crisp dancefloor. Bounce, clack, flash. Pure syncopated rhythm under the stars.
