A Silver Fan
I scrambled up the low stool right onto the sunny kitchen counter! Resting flat on the warm butcher block was a nested set of three shiny metal measuring spoons, linked together by a little silver ring. The smallest spoon was nestled right inside the widest bowl. I leaned forward and gave the tiny rim a gentle tap with my orange bill. Clink! With a patient heave of my belly, I nudged the longest handle sideways. Swish-clack! The spoons glided open like gleaming metallic wings across the dark wood grain! Morning sunbeams bounced off each polished scoop, casting three bright, smiling crescents right across my toes!
