Sunlit Prism

I noticed a stray prism pendant dangling from a forgotten suncatcher near the bay window curtain. Padded across the woven rug, I climbed onto the wide painted sill and paused to adjust my spectacles with a soft tap of my paw. On the sill lay a discarded pastel pink ribbon and a smooth brass washer. Working slowly and deliberately, I guided the ribbon through the washer's hollow center, then looped it around the glass crystal. Anchored securely by the brass weight, the crystal rests upright against the pale sill, casting tiny, scattered lilac flares across the wood.
